How we look after your information
What we collect when you use this website, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: September 2026
ION Education (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal information you give us through this website. This notice explains what we collect, how we use it and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
When you fill in a form (contact, eligibility checker, international application, job application or course enrolment) we collect the details you enter — usually your name, email address, phone number and your answers. Job applications also include the CV you upload. If you pay for a course online, your payment is handled by Stripe; we receive confirmation of the payment but never see your card details.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, assess your eligibility, process your application or enrolment, and keep you updated about it. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in running and improving our services. We do not sell your information.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where needed to provide our services: with education providers, employers or training centres you have asked us to put you forward to, and with trusted suppliers who help us run this website and our business (such as our hosting provider, email provider and Stripe for payments). They may only use it on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries, applications and CVs for as long as we need them to help you, and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for accounting purposes.
Cookies
This website uses a small number of essential cookies needed for it to work (for example, keeping staff signed in to the admin area). We only use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) if you accept them in the cookie banner — you can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. The map on our contact page is provided by Google and only loads if you choose to show it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. To make a request, contact us using the details on our Contact page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
